5 Easy Ways to Get Your Writing Published ,Now!

The goal of just about every writer is to have their work published. Whether you want to make money off of your work, or you just want to share your knowledge and creativity with others, getting published is now easier than ever. You no longer have to pay to have a book or story bound and distributed, nor do you need a contract with an editor and publisher in order for people to see your work. By taking advantage of the internet and the resources at your disposal, you’ll be a published writer in no time.
1. Start a Blog!
Whether you like to write about food, fiction, or just chronicle the happenings in your life, blogging is the best way to get your work out there. You can use platforms like WordPress or Blogger or even Tumblr and customize the site as little or as much as you want. Thanks to social media it’s very easy to promote your blog and get people reading your work.
2. Submit OpEds for Newspapers and News Sites
As a former newspaper editor, I can tell you that the Opinions Section of the paper would be nothing without reader and community submissions. In an oped you can talk about anything from the government to a local issue to who you are and why people should care about your cause. The Opinions Editor does have final say usually on what gets published so the more relevant your piece is the more likely you’ll get published. You can also use the space to promote your blog!
3. Write an E-Book.
I’ve never done this one myself, but I know a lot of people who have, and who have actually been quite successful in doing so. I’ve seen a lot of cookbooks published in this format, as well as fitness guides and self-help books. If you find that this format is appropriate for your writing, I suggest following this guide on how to do so: http://www.wikihow.com/Write-Your-First-eBook
4. Comment.
It may sound mundane but just like they say to always read to become a better writer, I would also suggest that you frequently comment. You can comment on other people’s blogs, news articles or online forums. By writing thoughtful, well-executed comments you can easily show your audience that you can write, and promote yourself and your work at the same time.
5. Become a Community User.
Take advantage of sites like Buzzfeed that allow community members to post their own content on the site in a specific section. They allow you to create your own articles, or listicles as they specialize in, and get them posted on the site for you to share with your friends and anyone else that may be interested in what you wrote about.
