Hey there! My name’s Michael Manfredo! I’m an author (unpublished, which I will cover in my first blog post), dreamer and procrastinator. I’m a student in the English Lit. Major at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Eventually I would like to teach creative writing and motivation to students of all ages, possibly around the world.
I’ve struggled with the idea of starting a blog on the subject of writing for quite some time now, and it wasn’t until I finally came to the realization that it was o.k. to be a procrastinator, that I was able to take that final leap and start one up. Writing has been a passion of mine for many years and it’s my intention to share with you here some of the tips, tricks, and personal revelations I’ve come across in the last decade, in the hopes of helping you find your voice! In addition to the traditionally appealing writing topics such as style, grammar, characterization and publishing, I’m hoping I can bring a bit of insight and understanding to the darker sides of a writer as well, imparting advice on overcoming writers block, defeating procrastination, keeping your focus and other various struggles many of us have and are often too afraid to share. It’s taken me a long time to be comfortable in my own authorial skin; maybe I can help shorten that time for you!
Feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or suggestions! I hope you enjoy!
